Would you like to take a tour through the oldest remaining gold stamping battery in Queensland?
Explore the incredible Venus Gold Battery in Charters Towers and be amazed at how gold was processed during the colourful North Queensland goldrush of the 1800's.
The tour includes two short film presentations that explain the process of milling ore and introduce you to some of the ghosts of the Battery...
The Venus Battery produced around 15.5 tonnes of gold. It was the third crushing battery to open in Charters Towers and the last to close.
Family friendly and suitable for all ages.
