Welcome to the Australian Heritage Festival
The Australian Heritage Festival stands as the nation’s largest celebration of heritage, driven by the passion and participation of local communities.
For over 40 years, the National Trust has brought people together to honour and explore Australia's heritage through this festival.
Stretching across cities and regional areas, the Festival invites the public to experience the richness and diversity of our history through exhibitions, guided tours, engaging talks, hands-on workshops, food fairs, cultural ceremonies, live demonstrations, dinners, and much more.
Welcome to Australia’s largest heritage celebration, where community and inclusivity unite! Once again, all of our states and territories come together to celebrate heritage, and it’s time to start planning!
From Friday 18 April to Sunday 18 May 2025, the National Trust Queensland will assist in coordinating events celebrating Queensland’s diverse cultural heritage.
In April and May 2025, the festival will return with the theme Unearthed – revealing the past, bringing to light lesser-known histories and stories, and unearthing knowledge to empower younger generations as custodians of culture and tradition.
