Toowoomba Trails: Stories & Secret Places of WW2

Apr 25, 2023, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

During World War 2 Toowoomba played a small, but significant role as a centre, for training, rest and recreation, logistics, medical services and much more. What is the association between Toowoomba and submarines? Why was the defence of the East Coast of Australia planned from Toowoomba and not Brisbane? Were were the 18 Air Raid shelters built?

Join our guide, and well known local story teller, Paul Herbert on an Exploration of Toowoomba’s fascinating War history – much of it still clearly visible if you know where to look. The price includes a scone & coffee with your guide at the end of the tour.

The walk starts at Laurel Bank park and finishes near the Toowoomba Railway Station with a cuppa with your guide. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
